Pierre-Louis Teissedre is full professor at the Faculty of Oenology of the University Bordeaux 2 and director of the Applied Chemistry Laboratory in the EA4577 - USC 1219 ¿nologie INRA. He is an oenologist on the Faculty of Pharmacy of Montpellier in 1989 and earned his doctorate from the University Montpellier 1. In 1993 and 1994 he served as an associate doctor at the University of California, Davis (USA) in the Department of Enology and Viticulture. Dr. Teissedre is an expert in the technology group and is the scientific secretary of the Safety and Health Committee of the International Wines and Vines Organization (OIV). He is also the vice president of the Scientific and Technical Council of the French Institute of Vines and Wines. He specializes in the organoleptic compound compositions of grapes and wines, and in particular, in the different aspects of phenolics: quality and sensorial, analytical chemistry of grapes and wine, wine quality during winemaking and ageing, physiology and food safety (contaminants) and health in the science of oenology. He has been involved in numerous industrial and academic collaborative projects, is the author of more than 200 publications and communications in international journals with peer reviews and is co-inventor of five patents.
