The alliance is made up of Rovira i Virgili University and eight public research bodies renowned in their fields of specialization:

- The Institute for Human Paleoecology and Social Evolution (IPHES)

- The Catalan Institute of Vines and Wines (INCAVI)

All of these stakeholders have played a central role in the development of the CEICS and numerous affiliated entities are involved in the project as well, including the Mestral Technology centre, more than 30 leading companies in the sectors in which the CEICS specializes, chambers of commerce, the Socioeconomic Committee of Tarragona, the provincial government of Tarragona and the Tarragona Knowledge Region Office.
Together, these form a cohesive strategic alliance in the five areas, incorporating organizations across the entire value chain, from the generation of knowledge (teaching and basic research) to the transfer of technology and innovation as a basic tool for improving competitiveness and generating wealth in the region.
