This competition aims to recruit a young researcher to present a project to the European Research Council (ERC) “Starting Grants” scheme. The assessment criteria are based on scientific excellence.
The Campus of International Excellence Southern Catalonia is holding a competition this year to award a post-doctoral contract that is aimed at recruiting talented individuals. The conditions of the competition will be released in May and it is aimed at young researchers with between 2 and 12 years’ experience of working in any field since finishing their doctoral degrees. They must have obtained their doctoral degrees from a university other than the URV and they must not have been in a statutory or contractual relationship with the URV. The beneficiary must put forward an excellent research proposal.
The duration of the contract will be one year but may be renewed for a further year and the researcher must present a proposal to the “Starting Grants” scheme of the ERC.
This competition is part of the Martí Franquès research programme for attracting talent that has been approved by the Governing Council of the URV today. The programme has been created in the frame of the CEICS and is designed to bring together all of the predoctoral grants for the 2012-13 academic year and this postdoctoral position under one programme. In the frame of this programme, more than 50 predoctoral grants are on offer. In addition to its own resources, the programme has external funding that has been obtained by the CEICS, in particular four new grants that are completely funded by the Catalunya Caixa Foundation, and two other grants awarded last year by the same entity and which will be renewed this year.
