Urban development and architecture

The teaching and research spaces and infrastructures of the CEICS are distributed throughout the counties of southern Catalonia. The structures of the five clusters of specialization (chemistry and energy, nutrition and health, tourism, oenology, heritage and culture) are closely related to the socio-economic environment of the area, which facilitates the creation of links for channeling knowledge to society and the productive sector.

Most of the structures in the cluster specializing in Nutrition and Health can be found in Reus and are currently undergoing a process of improvement and transformation. Courses are given in nutrition and physiotherapy at the URV's Bellissens Campus and the Faculty of Medicine, currently in the city centre, will soon be moved there. Tecnoparc, the Technology Park of Camp de Tarragona, is located alongside the faculties and accommodates the Technology Centre for Nutrition and Health and the University Hospital of Sant Joan de Reus. The Pere Virgili Institute for Health Research (IISPV) is also planning to move its headquarters there.
