The Pere Virgili Institute for Health Research (IISPV)

The Pere Virgili Institute for Health Research (IISPV) focuses and catalyses all the research in the the field of health conducted in the hospitals of southern Catalonia. This institution simplifies the structure of the Campus of International Excellence Southern Catalonia (CEICS) in the area of health and nutrition, increasing its scale and importance in the development of innovation policies which are rapidly implemented in the healthcare sector.

Scientific cooperation

An inter-institutional scientific cooperation agreement between the Catalan Institute of Health (Joan XXIII University Hospital in Tarragona, the primary care service in Tarragona, and Tortosa Hospital), the Sagessa group (Sant Joan University Hospital and the primary care service in Reus), the Pere Mata group (Institut Pere Mata University Psychiatric Hospital) and Rovira i Virgili University has led to the development and solidity of this institute, the purpose of which is to foster, carry out and disseminate both research and training in the field of health sciences and nutrition.
