Rovira i Virgili University is a publicly funded university serving the counties of Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre. Founded in 1991, in these few short years it has become a benchmark university in Catalonia and Europe thanks to the quality of its teaching and the excellence of its research, development and innovation. The overview and the annual report of the URV will tell you the impact on education, research, and its regional and international dimension
Some fifty bachelor's and master's programmes are closely linked to the five speciality areas of the Campus of International Excellence: chemistry and energy, nutrition and health, oenology, tourism, culture and heritage.
Within the CEICS, professionals are trained in accordance with the precepts of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), which facilitates the flow of students. Postgraduate studies are geared towards training professionals in the most innovative economic sectors. Students have the option of gaining work experience in R&D at CEICS research centres as well as in businesses in the sector to ensure that they finish their studies with not only knowledge, but with know-how as well.
Teaching, research and knowledge transfer
For some years now, the URV has had a policy in place that brings its teaching, research and knowledge transfer in line with the productive sector, especially with companies working in the five specialized areas that form the foundation of the CEICS. This has permitted the creation of a far-reaching network comprising the university, research institutes, research and technology centres and science and technology parks.
Studying at the CEICS allows students to continue specializing, researching and working in their areas of knowledge with guaranteed research and scientific quality.
Lifelong learning
In addition to master's and postgraduate degree programmes, the university offers more than 80 university extension courses and more than 30 specialized training courses designed to respond to the training needs of companies. The aim of these courses is to keep professionals up to date in terms of new developments and technologies and to facilitate professional specialization.
In addition, the other bodies that comprise the CEICS offer occasional training through the organization of courses, seminars and specialized symposia.
