Emilio Palomares

Investigador ICREA a l'Institut Català d'Investigació Química (ICIQ).

Dr. Emilio Palomares ( Valencia, 1974) is ICREA Research Professor at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia ( ICIQ) working on novel materials for energy applications. After finishing his Ph.D. Studies at the ITQ-UPV in Valencia, he moved in 2001 as Marie Curie Fellow to the Center of Electronic Materials and Devices at Imperial College in London. In 2005, he was awarded with a Ramon y Cajal Spanish Fellowship to work on molecular photovoltaic devices at the ICMol-UVEG in Valencia. In 2006, he moved to ICIQ where he is currently working on the development of novel materials for molecular and bio-molecular energy applications including solar cells, light emitting devices and low cost environmental chemical sensors.

Prof. Palomares has received several awards and fellowships including the Young Chemist Research Award by the Real Sociedad Española de Química in 2006, the Innova SUSCHEM award in 2010, the SIGMA-ALDRICH invited Lecture for Young Chemist in 2004 and the European Research Council Fellowship for starting researchers ( ERCstg) in 2009. He has coauthored over 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications and is member of the Real Sociedad Española de Química and the Editorial Advisory Board of Energy and Environmental.
