The FURV is an organization created by Rovira i Virgili University to strengthen the relationship between the university and society. It was created to identify and respond to the needs of the socio-economic environment through the transfer of knowledge, lifelong learning and innovation.
The foundation’s work is based on three pillars:
The FURV maintains direct contacts with the productive and managerial framework in the region through its network of Science and Technology Parks as well as its knowledge network made up of research groups at the university, institutes and research centres.
The Centre for Technology Transfer and Innovation will round out these functions and will serve all the groups comprising the International Campus of Excellence Southern Catalonia. The aim is to boost the value of knowledge and to transfer the technology resulting from research conducted by the organizations making up the CEICS to the business sector and society as a whole. Its mission is to encourage and facilitate links between knowledge-generating centres and the productive sector.
